FREEDOM TO BE Giving all honor and glory to the One God that is known by many names, I take this now moment to say "Thank You". On this day when we sometimes have forgotten the reason that we celebrate, I say "Thank You, God". Even in the face of a history and some present-day situations that often betray the notion of liberty and justice for all, I say "Thank You". Thank You for forgiveness. Thank You for Your love that heals old wounds. Thank You for the mere notion of freedom. Thank You, for the hearts and minds of men and women who believe in freedom. Thank You for our ancestors who died that we may be free. Thank You for the will to align with Your Divine Will to see us all as Your beloved. Thank You, God, that You have given us free will to make our own choices. Thank You that we may always choose again when our choices produce unwanted results. Thank You, God, for the freedom to be all that You created us to be. Thank You for the awareness that You live, move and have Your being in us, through us and as us. Thank You that we are free to acknowledge You, to worship You and to say a heartfelt "Thank You". Amen. Rev. Beverly Saunders Biddle
