FREEZE COMPLETE SWEEP AT WOODCHUCK CLASSIC SHOWCASE 9-6-2014, Burlington VT – A new season, new era has begun as the Frederick Freeze completed a 3 game sweep at the annual “Woodchuck Classic Showcase” defeating the Springfield Pics 6 to 2. The Freeze chalked up three wins in just over 24 hours following a nine hour bus trip ... an impressive start to the 2014-2015 USPHL season. Frederick Freeze 6 vs Springfield Pics 2: Once more, the Freeze got off to a blazing start; led for the third straight game by Benson Liberman scoring two goals with an assist from Colin Maggi. Zac Poorman scored on a power play from Aaron Jackson and the Freeze never looked back. In the 2nd of two twenty-five periods, Dom Norris scored his first goal in Junior Hockey. In the closing minutes of the game, JR Stiles wrapped things up with a PPG from Bobby Tibbs. Freeze goalies Aaron Coffer and Alex Chen played a rock solid game with Chen recording his third straight win on 21 saves. With a 3-0-0 record, 6 points, 18 GF, and 10 GA, the Frederick Freeze lead the USPHL Empire North division followed closely by the Jersey Hitmen who were the only other undefeated team coming out of the Woodchuck Classic Showcase. The Freeze play their home opener today, Saturday Sept 13th, at 5:20 PM against the Syracuse Stars. Both teams meet up again on Sunday Sept 14th at 9:10 AM ... all games are at SkateFrederick.
