FRIDAY!!!!!!! Better still, FRIDAY EVENING!!!!! Time for a round up of the week. - cyclists! Every day I walk from the station to my place of work, crossing a few busy traffic light controlled junctions. There are also shared paths allegedly for cyclists and pedestrians to share. Quite honestly Id be safer walking down the middle of the motorway! Not content with attempting to take over the road, cyclists seem to think pedestrians have no rights to use the pathway. Anyway, every day I see many, many cyclists totally ignore traffic lights, weave their way around cars, causing mayhem. Problem is in their anonymous outfits of helmet and Lycra it isnt possible to identify the individual. Heres my solution. All cycles must be registered, with a number plate. In this way they will be actually contributing to the upkeep of roads and paths, plus they can be identified, reported, have their licence to ride suspended. Simple isnt it? - while on the subject of transport, a crazy thing with Australia, you can drive from the age of 16, pass a test and then buy any car you fancy. I do mean any. Problem is, (for my UK friends), when you pay your annual car registration it includes third party insurance, so you dont need to get insured. Consequently, we have 17 year old kids driving V8 monsters and killing themselves and other unfortunate innocent people. Answer is simple isnt it? Remove the insurance element of the registration fee, make them have to get insured. Can you imagine that. 17 year old trying to insure a 300hp+ V8!!! And before anyone suggests that we would have uninsured idiots on the roads, with the modern plate recognition stuff the cops have, they would soon be taken off the roads in jail serving a 20 year sentence, (my rules). - exhaust pipes of 6 inch diameter drain pipe off cuts, whats that about? Usually welded to the end of an exhaust on some crappy car with stripes and an engine the size of my windscreen washer. Do they think people are in awe of the noise? Do they think the girls swoon at their masculinity? (Cause they are usually boys). Theyre probably deaf anyway. Weird custom. - epiphany moment the other evening, the tax man owes me money! Oh yeah! Ill give them 5 working days to pay after which interest will accrue, compounded, at the rate of 50% per day. Hehe! - mixing with the great unwashed public as I am now forced to do very day on the train, Ive come to realise that the claims of more and more obese people is true and they usually want to sit next to me on the train. I have seen some awful examples, how the hell does anyone let themselves get into that state? No doubt there will be some misguided group of misguided, misinformed self proclaimed experts who will say, there, there, never mind, its not your fault, its just lack of self control syndrome, acronym, FAT - all week its been in the low 30s C, blue skies and beautiful. Forecast for the weekend? 24C and showers! Somehow, I dont really care, I have a jumper and an umbrella. Have a strange urge to visit St. Ives, dont know why. The bubbles have been opened and poured, the weekend has officially been declared go!!! Have a good one friends and family.
