FRIDAY update: Pearl and I are in the land of eat, nurse, drink, sleep :) She is doing well and has a good nursing schedule already. The docs are a little concerned that her urine output is not where they want it to be. Because of that we are using a SNS to supplement her with a little more of my breast milk during feedings. She just got her stitches out of her neck from the cannulas from ECMO. She did not like that but shes sleeping comfortably now. Her breathing looks and sounds great but she still has the nose cannula in for good measure. She is steadily weaning off her Ativan, Methadone, and Clonodine. The wean plan shows that she should be done with all medications by Friday the 12th. The medications she is on can be given at home so we can finish the wean there. So, the plan is to get her milk intake up to increase output in her diapers. I think we will have a clear timeline of leaving after that. We still dont know when we are going home but we are taking it day by day and are SO thankful that we have our baby girl in our arms.
