FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS: First, Rick Green has said that he is retired. I am trying to get a draft Rick Green movement going for mayor. Is he the perfect candidate? Perhaps not. But, he has name recognition. He was very unpopular with Councilor Fox. To me, that is almost enough to get my vote. Read his blog about his thoughts on the Township. Does he speak your thoughts? But, more than that, here are the alternatives. Mayor Froese, who promised to keep the rural character of the Township intact. A miserable failure who is invisible at regional mayors meetings. Or, Jordan Bateman, an idealogue with close ties to the real power broker in Langley, Rich Coleman. It was Coleman who was behind the Wall development of ALR lands for Trinity. His hooks are in everything that goes on in the Township. So Froese, his idealogical clone, or Rick Green? This election is Armageddon for the Township. Rick Green would do well in a two way race or a three way race with Jordan Bateman, who was involved in the recent phone survey. I know environmentalists are driven by ideals. But, this is about politics! Wait for the perfect candidate, lose because there is no such animal, and watch your neighborhood disappear before your eyes. I am asking people to like this post to show Rick Green that Brookswood needs a new council. By the way, I have never met Mr. Green and have never had a conversation with him, PERIOD! To wait for the perfect candidate is folly. Now is the time to begin taking action. If we lose this fight, at my age, I will move rather than watch the destruction of a community. According to Coucilor Fox, I will be dead before it affects me, but I will not stay and watch the trees fall.
