FROM: Defending the Heritage We make a living by what we GET, but we make a life by what we GIVE. ~ Jeanne Mayo ~ This is a quote that my friend and incredible woman of God, Jeanne Mayo, shared. Love her and what we refer to as Jeanne-isms. She states such simple things, yet they have such profound meanings and can be applied by each of us to our individual lives and experiences. God gives each of us opportunities on a daily basis to GET, but its up to us to GIVE. I love our history and heritage. The hunger I have inside of me to know and learn more, will never cease. I also know that we all must GIVE of ourselves, GIVE of our time, and GIVE of our resources, to continue the fight to preserve and protect the honor and dignity of ALL our ancestors today, tomorrow and forever. This is a fight that will never end and we must all dig our heels in and be prepared at all times to honor, respect and educate anyone who is or tries to annihilate the richest heritage in this country. We are eternally indebted to the brave men, women and children, who were forced into horrific conditions and circumstances. They all remain alive today in the blood running through our veins. GIVE them your voice! GIVE them your time! GIVE them the honor, dignity and respect they so richly deserve! I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do. What I can do, I should do.
