FROM MY ANGLE Im still thinking of Kennedy Mweenes adopted English accent that I heard him speak at the post match conference. One would have thought Zambia was featuring a South African born Goalkeeper. Why would Kennedy Mweene adopt to speak one of the poorest English accents in Africa?The Zambian English accent is the Second best accent in Africa. Only second to Liberia. 90% Zambians speak English without mother tongue interference. I do not expect a True proud Zambian to adopt an English accent that is littered with horrible pronunciations. Tap pronounced as tep. Bath pronounced as birth. Like in other West African countries too,where verse is pronounced as vas. The Zambian English accent is near perfect. I wouldnt even mind if his accent sounded Tonglish,because it would have been of Zambian characteristics. Borrowing from one of the poorest English accents in Africa is unacceptable.
