Among the 6 states in the southwest where I’m from, only Ekiti and Ondo has more Christians than Muslims. And if the Muslim community as a whole does not vote for Jonathan, he can never win an election in Nigeria. Now having voted massively for Obasanjo, and for Jonathan in 2011 due to his pretense and deceit despite being a Christian, for some of his attack boys in Femi Fani Kayode, Femi Aribisala and there ilk’s to come out now and be trying to propagandize the minds of Christians and others against Buhari saying a vote for him is a vote for Islam, is not only irresponsible and despicable, it’s a dangerous desperate move that will not help anybody including their lord in aso-villa. The Muslims that have voted for Jonathan are not stupid. Despite the fact that Jonathan took the mandate of both Muslim and Christian Nigerians to go and kneel down in front of a pastor in public in 2011, lots of Muslims still went ahead to vote for him during the elections. I wonder what will happen if General Buhari went to bow down before an Imam in public. Theyve been playing the same propaganda tone every now and then saying first he wants to Islamize Nigeria, later hes a bokoharam supporter and now theyve taken it a step further saying a vote for him is a vote for Islam, forgetting that Muslims voted for Jonathan despite going to kneel down in public in front of a pastor without thinking he wants to Christianize Nigeria or it’s a vote for Christianity. The obvious and unarguable truth which nobody can dispute and which this shameless bigots know deep down them is that nobody can either Islamize or Christianize Nigeria, it’s just not possible. To now say that a man who as a Military president where theres no constitution or national assembly to check him did not do anything to inconvenient Christians from practicing their religion, will now do that as a Civilian president where there is a constitution and national assembly represented by both Muslims, Christians and traditionalist to put him in check, is the highest level of deceit and dishonesty. It’s no secret that former president Obasanjo visited bokoharam leadership in Maiduguri some years back and even told Nigerians recently that he still has links to them and he can help rescue our Chibok girls if the Jonathan government gives him the go ahead. What more could be a clear link to bokoharam than this to Fani Kayode, Femi Aribisala and there ilk’s. So for some aso-villa goons to now be telling us that General Buhari is a supporter of bokoharam without an iota of concrete evidence rather than twisted quotes from the pages of newspapers is not only callous but satanic considering the kind of atrocities this people are committing. This and a lot more continue to show us why the Jonathan government has refused to put his feet on the ground and stamp out these menace from our society. Theyre obviously seeking to make political gains from the plague that has befallen our beloved Nigeria, as it seems to be there last card of play considering there abysmal performance in governance. But one thing is important to note that some of us cant be convinced and find it difficult to believe that a crime of this magnitude where killings are going on rampantly for the past 5 years can be happening in a country and the government of the day, with all its resources and security intelligence agencies doesnt know the people behind it, it’s just difficult to phantom. It’s high time the likes of Femi Fani Kayode and Femi Aribisala are called to order by whoever that cares. They should stop fanning these ember of religious and ethnic divisions among Nigerians, it wont do anybody any good and fortunately for us, we have some discerning Muslims and Christian Nigerians who are not easily hoodwinked by propaganda. But this their new tactics of trying to brim Islamophobia in the polity just to win an election must stop. We’ve seen in these country how people go to mosques and churches all day and still go to the treasury to steal our common wealth and impoverish the people. Candidates should come to us with their records and what they’re capable of doing to place our country on the right path of growth and development and not deceive us with their holier than thou postures in Churches and Mosques. We cant forget so soon how Nigerians of all divides, tribe and religion et al, trooped out in January 2012 and locked down the country’s economy for almost 2 weeks to protest the removal of fuel subsidy, because the hardship that will follow will affect everybody irrespective of religious or ethnic divide. The Jonathan government in reducing the price of PMS, promised us among others to prosecute and jail the oil cabals who made Nigeria that was paying well below #1 trillion as at 2009, to suddenly begin to pay over #2 trillion in 2011 for subsidy. But what do we have now, nothing has happened, the people that are stealing us dry are still gallivanting around the streets, nobody is holding anybody accountable, the report of Nuhu Ribadu has since been thrown into the dustbins of aso-villa, its business as usual. So what has changed since Nigerians from all divides protested against these wicked policy of the government in 2012? Nothing! Instead things are getting worse. These same government masterminded the reaping off and killing of its jobless citizens all in the name of immigration employment, and what has happened after that? Nothing! The minister in charge neither refunded the money of the jobless youths nor faced the axe, even recent media reports are saying the senate investigation report will also be swept under the carpet. You wont find people like Femi Fani Kayode, Femi Aribisala and there ilks who pretends to love Nigeria and Nigerians more than every other person use there charismatic writing skills to talk about issues like this and make sure it doesnt leave the media discussion realm, put the government on their toes, make sure they do the right things and that Nigerians dont forget to hold them accountable to their promises, but what youll find them do is write about baseless issues that are not important to the development of Nigeria, make fictitious arguments and claims without concrete evidences to back it up other than twisted logics and here says. Theyre busy selling their souls for crumbs, theyre happy as our commonwealth are being frittered away everyday so far theyre kept in the loop, either directly or indirectly. Moving forward, we urge the federal government to change its ways, if they would, it should call its loyalist and propagandist to order and stop the politicization of the bokoharam problem in Nigeria for God sake, by pointing accusing fingers here and there. It should stamp its feet on the ground, bring all other stakeholders together quickly and stop these incursion on our country by heartless murderers and whoever is caught on the act should be promptly and publicly prosecuted and dealt with, to serve as a deterrent to others. Mr. Jonathan should advice his propagandist to base their public discourse on issues based politics and not religious and ethnic propaganda. It will do us no good in a country like Nigeria where there is already lots of ethnic and religious intermingling in terms of marriage and core friendship. In fact I have a sister who is married to an Igbo man and we pray we will not one day have to acquire a visa to visit her. The government should put on the table clearly its achievements, reputation and capabilities, and let Nigerians decide if it deserves a second term based on its records, promises, et al, and nothing else.
