Press release September 1, 2014 Contact: Lisa Youngblood 210-269-5861 Film by San Antonio Area Vets Chosen for Prestigious Film Festival Post, a searing and poignant short film about one soldiers PTSD experience and attempted suicide has been chosen as an entry in the 2014 Cincinatti Film Festival. Each fall, The festival, in its 4th year, brings 100 brave and beatiful films from some 34 countries to center stage. Post is a powerful short film. It chronicles the PTSD journey of Army vet Terry Williams of Converse Texas. Williams thought his suicide would bring attention to PTSD---and help to the thousands of others in need of support and treatment. It has been a tough journey but the purpose of this film is to raise awareness. And I know from the feedback there are many, many of brothers and sisters is service who are dealing with the same struggles, Williams, who is now in successful treatment said. His attempt came as the country was just learning of the lapses in axes for veterans at federal facilities around the country---and his own frustrating year plus long battle of trying to receive care and back pay. The films producer is Terrys brother Trent who currently serves in the U.S. Navy. Ive had it in my mind to make a film centered on this condition (PTSD) that thousands of people suffer from. It just made too much sense to make it with my own brother who is a part of that community. Trent shared. Terry is now working on a line of greeting cards with PTSD messages that speak to the person diagnosed and their families who suffer with them. I have been through so much fighting to get better. But my family has too. I want these cards to articulate that he said.
