FROM THE NEWSROOM: A Putnam man facing crack cocaine-related charges is currently out on bond, following an appearance in Danielson Superior Court today. 29-year-old Keith Quinoes requested for 60 days to hire an attorney, but the judge denied his request due to the seriousness of his charges; Quinoes is scheduled to next appear in court on August 8th. As previously reported, Putnam Police, with assistance from the State Police Quality of Life Task Force, arrested Quinoes Thursday. Police say Quinoess arrest comes as the result of an extensive and on going investigation into the sale of crack cocaine in Putnam. In a news release, police said each warrant was for the alleged sale of the drug. Quinoes faces drug charges related to possession, intent to sell, and alleged drug offenses within 1500 feet of a school zone, among others. Authorities say that Quinoes attempted to flee from police and was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit, with a “substantial amount of crack cocaine, marijuana and cash on his person.” A bond of $125,000 was set at that time; 50-year-old Danna Chaput, of Dudley, Mass., was also taken into custody and charged with several lower level drug offenses. Police say she was with Quinoes when police served the warrants for his arrest.
