FROM THE NEWSROOM: BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — Police say a woman arrested at the Mohegan Sun casino was taken into custody by Bridgeport authorities who said she was wanted for the theft of her sons ashes. Authorities say Raisa Gonzalez, of Bridgeport, was arrested over the weekend after allegedly interfering with an arrest. Mohegan Tribal Police Chief Jeffrey Hotsky said Tuesday that while processing Gonzalez police noticed the pending arrest warrant. He said Bridgeport police picked up Gonzalez on charges they described as stemming from a theft of ashes from a funeral home. The Connecticut Post reported Gonzalez faces charges including fifth-degree larceny and fifth-degree conspiracy for allegedly taking her sons ashes. Bridgeport police told The Associated Press nobody was available to provide information on the case. Gonzalez has no listed phone number, and it is unclear if she has hired an attorney.
