FROM THE NEWSROOM: Following the negotiation of the last union - TopicsExpress

FROM THE NEWSROOM: Following the negotiation of the last union contract, a resolution to authorize equal salary increases of 2.5% for non-union employees was recently approved by the Killingly Town Council. However, Town Manager Sean Hendricks said that because management and department head employees tend to have higher salaries than other employees, such as part-time library workers, he hopes that in the future the town can push to keep management raises below that of union workers, while still providing the full figure raise to library staff – he said this is a response to the tough budgeting and economic climate. The raises recently approved by the Town Council will not exceed $28,000 – the anticipated expense is actually within the $26,000 range.
