FROM THE NEWSROOM: It has been confirmed by Assistant Chief of East Putnam Fire Department Danny Manis that there was a brush fire across from 19 Tucker Hill Road in Putnam. After speaking with Manis, WINY was told the fire was on a ridge atop a hill. Although there were no injuries or property damage, the brush fire had spread to over a quarter of an acre before it was fully contained, after the East Putnam Fire Department responded at 7:25 PM. It is still unclear how the brush fire had started.
