FROM THE NEWSROOM: MIDDLEBURY, Conn. (AP) — Longtime Middlebury fire Chief Paul Perrotti has been arrested several months after federal agents seized some computers and finance records from the fire station. His lawyer says Perrotti was arrested by FBI agents at his home at about 6 a.m. Thursday and has a hearing later in the day in federal court in Bridgeport. The charges he faces were not immediately disclosed. FBI agents raided the firehouse in May and seized computers and financial documents. Perrotti has been chief of the volunteer department since 1997. He previously said that the FBI raid was a fishing expedition and the department spends about $6,000 on an independent auditor to review the books.
