FROM THE NEWSROOM: MONTVILLE, Conn. (AP) — A Montville man tells police he was beaten and shot by two masked men who broke into his home. State police say they found the man shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday night suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. He told officers the masked men broke into the home on Maple Avenue, struck him in the head and forced him into his kitchen. He says he was shot as he tried to run from the house. Police say his injury is not life threatening. A woman in the home was not injured. Police searched the area but did not make any arrests.
