FROM THE NEWSROOM: Putnam officials are awaiting a deed to be filed in the town clerks office, so the town can officially accept property around Town Farm Road as public property. A few weeks ago, residents voted at a public hearing for the town to accept 0.07 acres of property from a private landowner, which Town Administrator Doug Cutler said would benefit the public works department. Specifically, acquiring this land would allow Town Farm Road to be extended into a hammerhead which would improve turnaround when plowing. Cutler explains that this project is a win-win situation for everyone-- it also benefits abutting property owners, who will now be able to have access to a town-approved road. The Town Administrator explained it will be the property owners responsibility to conduct and pay for the Town Farm Road extension, not the towns. Tune in for the full report.
