FROM THE NEWSROOM: (UPDATE) More information has been released regarding Friday nights informational session on earthquakes. According to a press release from Plainfield Police, the Plainfield Board of Selectmen in conjunction with the Plainfield Police Department and Office of Emergency Management will be holding an informational session relating to the numerous earthquakes in the eastern portion of Connecticut. The informational session will be held at the Plainfield High School Auditorium (105 Putnam Road, Central Village, Connecticut) on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 6:30 P.M. Guest speakers will include Doctor Alan Kafka Director of Weston Observatory at Boston College and the State Department of Emergency Management. The session will include information pertaining to earthquakes, such as a PowerPoint presentation and handouts. It will also include a time block for questions and answers. The informational session is open to all Plainfield Residents and surrounding communities. Please arrive early as seating may be limited. Those attending shall park at the lower level lot of the Plainfield High School. Any questions relating to this session shall be directed to the Plainfield Police Chief, Michael Surprenant.
