FROM THE STREETS TO THE BOARDROOM, FIRST AUSTRALIAN CHANGE-MAKERS OF TODAY WORK FROM INSIDE THE POLITICAL STRUCTURES THAT ONCE KEPT THEM OUT Inside Out, a forum of powerful ideas that explore new directions for social and political change, will feature critical thinkers from Australia and New Zealand, interacting with audiences to exchange and contest ideas in a supportive matter. The two day program includes a Tent Embassy session featuring co-founder, Michael Anderson; prominent campaigners Jackie Huggins and Getano Lui; award winning author Kim Scott; artists Adam Hill and Julie Gough; media experts Dot West, Kirstie Parker and Luke Pearson; the next generation of leaders including Benson Saulo, Australia’s 2011 youth representative to the United Nations; singer Kutcha Edwards; the Future Forum facilitated by Jenny Brockie of the SBS program Insight and a Cabaret dinner with entertainers Constantina Bush, Kevin Kropinyeri, Deline Briscoe and Lou Bennett. THE INSIDE OUT FORUM is complemented by compelling new theatre works at Canberra Theatre Centre and the Wave Hill Canberra Exchange at Megalo Print + Studio recognises the significant connection between the Gurindji people of Daguragu and Kalkarindji communities, whose ground breaking strike in the 1960s heralded the birth of the national land rights movement.
