FYI- Here is a free way to protect yourself from identity theft. Initiate a Security Freeze with each of the three credit reporting agencies, Transunion, Experian and Equifax. You can do this online or over the phone. There is no charge to do a full freeze or to permanently unfreeze. There is a fee to temporarily unfreeze then re-freeze, say to allow processing of a new loan. This method of protection is especially useful if you dont think you will be requesting any new loans for a while. New loans cannot be processed in your name while your credit history and scores are frozen. A little peace of mind in this computer hacking age.
