FYI: The Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) is partnering once again with Jack Daniels for the 4th Annual Jack Daniels Operation Ride Home (ORH). Since 2011, through the generosity of Jack Daniels and their distributors and partners, the ASYMCA has facilitated travel home for the Christmas holidays for 2,777 service members and their family. Operation Ride Home is a program that allows junior enlisted service members (E-4 and below) and their families to travel home to visit family and friends for the Christmas Holidays. ORH is geared to service members who are not financially able to travel home for the holidays. The booking dates for travel are firm and are set by the National ASYMCA. No exceptions to the booking dates can be made. * Applications must be completed by the soldier - signed and prioritized by the unit commander and dropped off at the Fort Campbell ASYMCA (all together) by November 19, 2014. * Applications will be reviewed by the Fort Campbell ASYMCA to ensure eligibility and soldiers/families will be selected and notified November 26, 2014. Appointments will be set with each soldier at that time to come by the ASYMCA to schedule travel. * Soldiers travel will be booked by December 4, 2014 if flying home and December 11, 2014 if driving home. Jack Daniels Operation Ride Home enables the ASYMCA to provide plane tickets or vouchers for POV travel depending on the circumstances for each selected service member. There is an air travel cap of no more than $400 per airline ticket and $100 per individual for POV travel. A distance of 350 miles or more from the service members current duty station is required for travel assistance. Travel must be within the continental US and excludes travel to/from Alaska and Hawaii due to the prohibitive cost.
