FYI for fellow deer hunters, wildlife watchers and - TopicsExpress

FYI for fellow deer hunters, wildlife watchers and enthusiasts: Ive seen this a few times on fb, it appears to be from Channel 5 News (WEWS). Completely irresponsible headline and reporting. Its completely irresponsible the way that they are reporting this. The deer that was found to have it was on a Deer farm in Holmes County, fenced in of course. CWD has been around for a long time in other states. ODNR has been testing for it on harvested deer and deer farms in Ohio for years. It really means nothing except use common sense as always. If a person hunting sees a deer that is weak, scruffy, lethargic or acting in an unusual manner, dont shoot it and dont eat it. There could be many other reasons for this too. Call your County Game Warden and report. This isnt widespread. It was one deer on a deer farm isolated from the wild in Holmes County. Completely irresponsible headline and reporting. I usually dont get preachy on fb, but this was plain stupid.
