FYI: for those who wonder why good #BBQ costs so much. Brisket (good quality) costs $3.89/lb right now. Each one of these were 12.5 lbs. Thats $90 on the meat alone. It took 1 1/2 bags of pecan logs and 12 hours cook time. The bags of pecan logs cost $12 each. Prep of the meat (rub, marinade, injection) took 1 1/2 hours the day before. So lets total that up: Meat + seasoning = $110 BBQ wood = $15 Labor (13 hours) = $50 ???(cheap) Thats $175 in and you havent even gotten sides yet!
