Faceboook friends are awesome, but there are some things only a real-world friend can do. A while back, I asked if anyone knew whether Saigon 2 was related to the recently closed Saigon on Main (which has the best pho Ive ever tasted). Just now, my neighbor and friend, Guy Connelly, called to ask if I was home. A moment later, I opened my door and saw him holding a bag within which was the unmistakable shape of a takeout container. Hed brought me pho to go from Saigon 2, which he was passing by this morning. And he verified that they are not related to the closed restaurant, but are related to the place in Philly, which also has good pho. I cant wait top heat it up and dive in. (For those whove never had pho, rather than try to describe it, Ill just mention that Anthony Bourdain picked it as his death-row meal.)
