Facilities Engineer (Garment) Job description: Our client is a FDI company specified in Garment field – far from Ha Noi 100 Km. Now seeking Facilities Engineer. Role Purpose: to conduct regular inspections, maintenance, repair, and improvement on general plant facilities and infrastructure to ensure the smooth and cost-effective operation of the Plant. Report to Facilities Manager Responsible: 1. Regular Maintenance • Compressors, Chillers and Pumps: Conduct regular inspection and maintenance work on compressor, chiller, cooling tower, water pump (for hot and cold water) according to designated schedule advised by supplier. • General Facilities and Infrastructure: Conduct regular inspection and maintenance work on general facilities and infrastructure of the plant such as water distiller, fish pond, fire-fighting system, waste water treatment facilities, dorm and canteen facilities to ensure they operate in optimum condition. • Production-related Equipments: Conduct regular inspection and maintenance work on production-related equipments (excluding sewing machines). • Water Supply: Conduct regular inspection and maintenance work on the boiler and water-related facilities to ensure regular supply of steam and hot water. Assist regular inspections by governmental agencies on boiler pressure gauge to ensure it runs efficiently and safely. • Scrubber: Conduct regular inspection on water acidity required to neutralize gas emissions from scrubbers and alert Facility Manager for any abnormality. • Electricity Supply: Organize and conduct regular inspection on the generator and coordinate with regional power bureau to carry out maintenance activities as needed to ensure continuous and sufficient electricity supply. 2. Facilities Repair • Facilities Repair: Carry out repair work on facilities upon request from other users according to the daily work plan by the Facility Manager. • Problem Assessment: Assess skill requirements upon receipt of a problem and advise Facility Manager on feasibility of conducting repairs internally or need to be outsourced. 3. Facilities Improvement and Change Projects • Plant Expansion: Under the guidance of the Facilities Manger, implement plant expansion plans by installing new facilities and infrastructures as required. • Group Improvement Initiatives: Provide support to the Facilities Manager on the implementation of Group-wide facility improvement initiatives (e.g. installing petrol-usage monitor on boilers to monitor operating efficiency) • Facilities Upgrades: Provide support to the Facilities Manager on any facility upgrades or changes. 4. Cost Savings • Utilities Savings: Monitor the real-time utilities (e.g. power/water/steam) demand of the plant and adjust the capacity of supply facilities. Stop any inappropriate utility consumption if found and develop measures continuously to control the operational cost. Assist the Facilities Manager in creating a utilities consumption report. • Repair & Maintenance Outsourcing: Assist the Facilities Manager in analyzing cost effectiveness of in-house repair & maintenance capability versus outsourcing the work. • Cost Savings Mindset: Assist the Facilities Manager in collaborating with other departments to develop cost saving initiatives and participate in the initiatives to heighten the Plant’s sense of cost effective use of facilities.
