Fact, Fiction, and Fakers. by Herk Collins of CSI: Paranormal. The Horror and Sci Fi genres lend a great deal to the spilling over of Paranormal activity into the natural world. Most of the time, these genres though fictional and powered by the Hollywood machine, can be closer to truth than they may realize. For instance, the theory that Sasquatch may be an alien race dropped off on earth more than a century ago. This seems very possible all things considered. How about Werewolves? There is a disease known as Lycanthropy which causes the afflicted to act like a wild animal. There have been stories from all over the world of people whose muscles are so contorted that they no longer appear human and who possess astounding strength, one such story says that ten police officers had to hold one man down just so a doctor could sedate him. Do we as a people get our ideas of possible Paranormal phenomena from movie scripts? Or, Do the directors get ideas for movie scripts from Paranormal phenomena? Perhaps a little of both. Whatever the case, it is important to remember that while the movies are getting closer and closer to actual possibilities of real phenomena, we must always know the difference between what Hollywood shows us and what an actual spirit may show us. When Ghost Hunters first hit the airwaves, people from all walks of life were breaking into old buildings in an attempt to find any evidence that a haunting might be present. These days, Hollywood is the one driving people to look for the existence of spirit activity in the most dangerous of places. More appalling is the fact that there is a rise in robberies and burglaries by those who call themselves Paranormal teams. Where once, there was the so called team getting arrested for trespassing or causing trouble and making it look badly on the rest of us, now we have hoodlums robbing everyone and making an even worse impression for those of us that are hard working and trust worthy teams. So what do we do to protect our good names and reputations from those that would pose as a Paranormal team and rob people blind? I propose that we fight fire with fire. Just my own personal feelings I assure you. I fully intend to keep working my hardest for those who need my team and I to help them in their time of need, I also fully intend to continue forward with our Paranormal Unity campaign and never let the scum who would try to taint the good reputations of the greatest teams out there bring us down.
