Fake Sim Card Racket Busted By Rajouri Police 3 Sim Vendors Arrested Rajouri In a major success against the black marketing of telecom sim cards, Rajouri police today busted a gang involved in this crime and arrested 03 SIM card vendors from Alpha Gate area of Rajouri town who were running a fake SIM racket. On specific information a team of Special Operation Group of Rajouri police led by DySP Operations Iftikhar Ahmed Qureshi conducted raid and arrested three SIM card vendors namely Arun Sharma son of Ved Parkash, Sahil Kumar son of Madan Gopal and Natish Sharma son of Subash Chander Sharma, all resident of Muradpur village of Rajouri. During search, a number of SIMs and details of SIM cards issued on fake identity proof were seized from spot. During the preliminary investigation, the accused disclosed that they have sold hundreds of SIMs on fake ID proof on higher prices to unknown persons. Giving details SSP Rajouri Mubassir Latifi told state observer that the busting of this gang is a major success for police as the fake SIM cards can be used in different anti social activities including crime and militancy acts. He added that a case in FIR No. 521/2014 U/S 420/467/468/471 RPC has been registered at P/S Rajouri. Meanwhile sources revealed that some more persons involved in the racket are still out of the reach of police and their arrest is on cards. It is pertinent here to mention that a similar type of racket was busted fro Thanamandi area few months back.
