Famous Birthdays:July 6, 1946 This is one of those instances when we have 2 popular birthdays and Im not sure which to highlight with a story. Then I stop to think I dont need to tell stories about these guys, everyone knows them well! The first guy is our 43rd President of the United States, George W. Bush, former businessman, former Texas Govenor and sports team owner. Hes probably best remembered as the man who was President when 9-11 occured. Hes also known for being the son of our 41st President, George H.W. Bush. George W Bush is the oldest of the Bush children of George H.W. and Barbara Bush. He is 68 years old today the 2nd photo is of Michael Sylvester Stallone. This guy is famous for having written, produced and directed some of the best action movies in recent history. He first came to prominence in 1976 with his Rocky movie, he played a Johnny No-name boxer who gets a shot at the world title. I forget how many sequels there are, but I can recall 6, I think. Hes also famous for his First Blood movie & sequels. He also made some comedies which met with mixed reviews. Rhinestone with Dolly Parton, Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot with Estelle Getty and one other comedy where he played a mobster gone straight. I cant recall that ones name. Unfortunately, Sylvester Stallone was stereotyped by his fans. Seeing him in a comedy was not right. His fans wanted to see John Rambo in action or Rocky Balboa punching some bad dudes lights out. They didnt want to see some New York Cabbie learn Country Music (Rhinestone) or a cop whos mom was tougher than he was. He also starred in a movie or two with his now former wife, Brigitte Neilson, Cobra. Mr. Stallone is also 68 years old today. Again, Im doing most of this by memory so I may have my facts skewed a bit. I do remember seeing on a program one time about George H.W. Bush meeting with Pope John Paul II. The documentary talked about the Pope being Catholic which wasnt a big surprise, and George H.W. Bush being what was deemed The Pope of the Methodist Church, if ever there was one!. For some reason, that stuck with me. Wonder why?
