Famous Wrestling Legend and Motion Picture performer Douglas Ox Baker passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, October 20, 2014. He was 80 years old. In the world of professional wrestling, Baker took on a wide range of opponents, from Andre the Giant, Dick the Bruiser and The Sheik to Jimmy Snuka and Hulk Hogan. Baker also took on the role of Slag in John Carpenters 1981 film, Escape from New York, doing battle with actor Kurt Russell. He has also been in several other motion pictures and was the Author of a cookbook. Baker took part in a documentary about pro-wrestling in Detroit and was Special Guest at the Premiere of Wrestlings Battles Bouts and Brawls in late May of 201.4 in Detroit, Michigan. A true Legend both in and out of the ring, Baker treated you as a long-time friend, whether meeting him for the first time, or knowing him for decades and forgetting a specific occasion. The world has lost a truly Great Man... you will be missed.
