Fan Question: Seeking advice on how to handle a 10-year-old stepson who occasionally misbehaves while his father is at work and he is in my care. He will afterwards lie about the entire situation to his mother and say that I did and said things that never happened. These situations always escalate into huge dramatic events between my husband and his ex. She always believes everything their son says and tries to convince my husband to find alternative care for their son when he is working so that he does not have to suffer my mental/physical abuse. I honestly believe that these incidents are fueled by him returning to his mothers house and telling her that he had fun with me while his father was working, when he sees this hurts her feelings, he then tells her about his misbehavior and tweaks the story to make it appear I did something wrong. Im no therapist, but this appears to be the case because he always tells me to give him a hug goodbye before we leave to take him home because his mom would be mad if she saw and things like that. How can we stop these dramatic escalations? How do we stop him from lying about me? Posted by Mak
