Fantastic list of bird sightings on the farm on 24th November, courtesy of John Fleming, our long-term bird recorder... Birds near Overtown Farm, 9.30am-11.30am. 60 skylarks, 3 meadow pipits and 3 yellowhammers in weedy stubble and 80 jackdaws, 25 rooks and 6 carrion crows on pasture. 2 ravens flew over east calling, flock of 28 golden plovers, 1 pale buzzard and a mistle thrush flew north. A good passage s-s/w of 1700 wood pigeons, 42 stock doves, 140 common gulls, 6 lesser black backed gulls, 60 fieldfares, 45 redwings, 90 starlings, 15 chaffinches, 5 linnets, 2 siskins, 1 goldfinch and 3 lapwings. The common gulls included one flock of 80 birds together.
