Fatal light-plane crash near Albury An investigation is underway following a fatal light-plane crash in the state’s south today. Emergency services were called to Urana Road at Burrumbuttock, approximately 40kms from Albury, just after 5.30pm (Sunday 20 July 2014) where they found the wreckage of the plane. Officers from Albury Local Area Command attended and located the body of the pilot inside. The pilot, who is yet to be identified, is believed to be the sole occupant. A crime scene has been established at the location and will be examined by forensic specialists. An investigation is underway and local police will assist investigators from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
