Featured: Oxnard, CA - Amtrak Cascades Cabbage Car 90230 (for a specially painted Cabbage Car, this unit has become the "Extraboard" of One having had tours of duty on the Midwestern Corridors, the Heartland Flyer, and now, it has found its way into various tours of substitution duty on the Classical San Diegan Service set. I got this photo on Thursday when I was in Oxnard to pick up info for the preparation of City Profiles for Western Rails at Trainweb. This cabbage car is currently substituting for the regularly occurring AMTK 90208 which got damaged in an accident. We also have the 90278 in Los Angeles but so far I have not seen that unit in revenue service. Amtrak train 790 (left) is on approach to the platform and the Union Pacific Manifest Gemco to Guadalupe train is seen here (right) awaiting 790 to be in their clear before departing northward as just north of Oxnard, the line becomes single track until the next siding a location known as Montalvo.
