Feel for this man. This is slow torture. Lava has stopped just short of his berm for a week now. No one knows if or how long, but he knows as does everyone, if the lava keeps flowing this direction, berm or no berm, nature is the boss. This slope of the volcano has been quiet for a long time, but Pele is still busy with construction of the island, and we are living in the construction zone. No one wants to lose their home, that is the bittersweet part of living on an active volcano.
