Feeling very frustrated. On Monday March 24th marks my 19 years of cancer free. I lost my beautiful sister and only sibling to lung cancer in 2009. I had been told for 18 years that I could not be rebuilt. In laments terms it is due to the radiation treatments my skin will not stretch. I have finally found a surgeon who says new procedure he could do it. Its a 10 hour procedure that will be done on May 30th! Rejoice! So I thought in celebration I would do the avon walk in Santa Barbara. 40 miles over 2 days. I had already donated a perfectly running Toyota to the Susan B Kolman cancer foundation. Imagine my shock yesterday when a representative from Avon walk called and said that to walk you have to commit to an $1800 donation. What the what???! When did something so close to a lot of peoples hearts become such a business? I its not the money so much as my husband informed me that a commitment of the $1800 is an implied contract and if I dont raise it I will be liable?!!! Im going to find a different walk? Any suggestions out there?
