Felling Cricket Club started life in the Tyne and Wear Super League with a fine win away at Westoe on Wednesday night. Taking the doubles 2 - 1 there were excellent performances from all six players with Dougie Hall and Barry McAtominey taking the opener. Stu Benson and Lee Walton just fell short in the second before Rob McCluskey and David Fleming produced a blistering leg to head into the singles with a lead. The opening three singles all went the way of the Cricket Club with Dougie Hall cracking in a top 3 - 0 effort followed by Barry McAtominey with another top display winning 3 - 1 before Stu Benson took out another 3 - 1 win with the best display on the night and a 25.78 average. Lee Walton took an early lead but was pegged back and likewise Rob McCluskey before David Fleming was just beaten in a tremendous match 3 - 2 against Dave Maitland. So a good start to life in the super league, club at home next week against Westoe 8.30 start.
