Fellows, In the attachment is the actual draft agreement - TopicsExpress

Fellows, In the attachment is the actual draft agreement between the government of South Sudan and SSDM/A Cobra Faction. The agreement is not final because there was no agreement on security arrangements. In the next two or three weeks, another round of peace talks will be convened to discuss the security arrangements and put all of these pieces of agreements into one final agreement. Our delegates prevailed over government attempt to divide Anyuak by resisting the 1956 Greater Pibor map that excluded Anyuak in their northern territory. By resisting the1956 map, the cobra faction was able to maintain its key principle that the new state will based on the tribal borders of the four communities. In the next round, our team will draw the map of the new state (or administrative zone) that includes all four communities. The agreement has given us things we never had before: It promised us ministerial positions, ambassadorial positions, deputy ministerial positions, presidential advisers, diplomatic positions, commissioners, national security positions and more counties that will result in having more members of parliament at both state council and at the national assembly. This is a big improvement for our four communities. We will work hard to make sure that the government implement this agreement and also work hard to make sure that some holdouts who falsely think this agreement will erode their political power do not confuse our people to think the agreement does not improve their lives.
