Female headed households feel the benefit of Polish - TopicsExpress

Female headed households feel the benefit of Polish Aid. Beneficiaries of a Polish Aid project aimed at improving women’s economic status through small scale agricultural projects are already seeing positive results. The project, run in partnership with Juhoud for Community Development, is providing either domestic animals or the preparation of land for cultivation to 30 female headed households in the Ramallah and Jenin districts. A delegation from the office of the Representative of the Republic of Poland in Ramallah visited some of the project’s beneficiaries to monitor progress and see the results. The delegation went to the villages of Burqin, Jifna and Zababdeh in the Jenin district where the project had enabled irrigation to be installed, provided valuable fencing for crop protection and prepared land for crop cultivation. The value of this project is not only that it improves the economic status of the participants involved but it also empowers them and enables them to maintain a presence in often fragile and threatened communities.
