Ferdinand is that sweet, cute guy in the front row with the glasses who gets every answer right on every quiz, helps the jocks and cheerleaders with their homework, plays the clarinet in band, has a zillion girl friends but is too awkward/shy to ask the hot, popular girl hes had a crush on for three years to his senior Prom. Hes the one no one can make fun of because hes so real and sweet and smart... but lets face it. Hes a total dork. But everyone kind of loves him for it. He was getting groomed tonight on the grooming table, which is a platform about 2 feet off the floor. I finished and sat down on the platform with him. He lolled on his side, and stretched out to use my foot as a pillow for his head. But my foot was hanging straight off the platform edge about eighteen inches. Ferdinand got so intent on perfectly aligning his body to the length of my leg that he rolled over... right off the grooming table, and upside down, landed half on the floor, and half on the Retrievador Joly, who happened to be getting groomed on the floor beside us. Massively embarrassed, Ferdinand instantly tried to scramble to his feet and turn it into a total I meant to do that! moment by seizing the tug toy in Jolys owners hand, and showing it to Joly, inviting her to play with him, the gallant hero who flew in, stole the prized toy, and presented it to the awestruck damsel. We were all laughing so hard at Ferdinand that no one noticed that in his attempt to redeem himself, hed stepped right into jolys leash and gotten himself hopelessly tangled. Miss Retrievador tugged with him for a moment, glanced at her mom, and thought better of being naughty, leaving Ferdinand completely flummoxed and at a loss as to how to fix his blunder. He relinquished the tug toy, turned around to me, and gave me what-now eyes. You have to have a better Prom proposal then falling from the sky, Ferdinand dear. I cant help you there, Ferd-nerd.
