#Ferguson #USA #Journalism #Police Here some major updates on the situation in Ferguson before I turn back on the Middle East: All the fears turn into reality as Ferguson seems more and more like a pure police state. Two German Journalists got arrested for three hours. A US Getty Images Photographer got also arrested. There are dozens of reports of Journalists getting threatened. Amnesty International has sent, for the first time in its history, a team to Ferguson to report on the situation. Even Ban Ki Moon from the UNO made a press statement regarding Ferguson and that the right of peaceful protest and press freedom must be guarantied. 1. A small town in the US, not somewhere else in the world: theatlantic/infocus/2014/08/national-guard-sent-to-ferguson-missouri-after-week-of-chaos-and-protest/100794/ 2. CNN reporter Jake Tapper reports life from Ferguson how totally insane the police presence is (or it would be better to call it paramilitary presence): edition.cnn/video/?/video/us/2014/08/19/ctn-tapper-tense-protest-standoff.cnn&video_referrer= 3. If police in Ferguson treat journalists like this, imagine how they treat residents: vox/2014/8/18/6043247/ferguson-police-media-harassment?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=ezraklein&utm_content=monday 4. Also the second autopsy, which was ordered by the family of Mike Brown, shows clearly that he got shot six time, twice directly in the head (!); also the report comes to the conclusion that the direction of the bullets hitting his head seem to indicate that the reports of him surrendering to the police officer are true.
