Fight Amp has played less shows in 2014 than any other year since we started. 14 shows so far in just 9 cities, and we played about 100 shows in something like 15 countries and tons of cities last year alone. We seriously miss the road, the adventures tour brings, playing and staying in our favorite cities, and seeing all of our out-of-town friends and we CANNOT WAIT to hit the road more next year in support of our new material.... That being said, we view being more selective and having a higher standard for the shows we play and focusing our energy where we believe it needs to focused as the number one reason we were able to kick out nine new jams that we feel like is our best material to date, and were about to enter the studio with an energy and excitement that we havent felt in a long time about our own band. I see a lot of debates online about whether hitting the road nonstop or staying home and being focused on building your hometown base/material/band fund etc is the right thing to do. The truth is, there is no right or wrong. Ask yourself what your goals are as a band and as musicians and make a plan that you think is your best path to achieve those goals. The answer is usually a happy medium of touring and focusing on crafting your material and home base. Find books and articles from bands and musicians that you view as having had similar goals, and use their path as an example. Dont let anyone, ESPECIALLY people writing online articles that appear in your Facebook feed, tell you what your goals are as a band or musicians.
