Fight to the Finish My goal today is to encourage someone who feels like they cannot keep “going.” By “going” I mean that you are someone who has a lot of “stops and starts” in your life. Many times you find yourself going down the “right” road for a while then all of a sudden, “BAM”, you hit rock bottom. You find yourself teetering on the verge of depression because you have “let God down” once again. There seems to be no way out of the never ending spiral of starting and stopping, day in and day out. Well, here’s some good news for you – You can’t “let God down.” He already knows your shortcomings and guess what? He still loves you. He is not mad with you and He is not disappointed with you! The Apostle Paul’s letter in Philippians 1:6 was not just to the Philippian church – it was to us as well. Listen to this: “For I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ (right up to the time of His return), developing (that good work) and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.” Beloved, that is great news! The fight is not over! Be encouraged to stay in the fight and fight to the finish! If God has not given up on you, then the least you can do is to stay in the fight! You are never defeated until you quit! Adopt this mindset – “I will stay in the race – no matter how many times I fall. I will get back up and try again.” When you understand that God is faithful to do what He said, the journey will become easier. You will begin to see that it is not how you start, but how you finish. Fight on, Christian soldier, fight on! Grace, MJ
