File under unmotivated employees: Just returned from McDonalds for lunch (hey all you haters, I had a SALAD!), and there was a series of clumps of grass/dog poop on the floor. Gross. I found a spot far away from them and just observed. Literally every employee there stepped over and around the clumps and I kept waiting to see if one would go into the kitchen and magically appear with a broom. There was a shift change and I thought for sure that an employee either coming or going would take the 30 seconds necessary to clean up the mess. Instead I saw customers come in and dodge the mess, looking slightly disgusted. Then I decided, well its lunch time, and theyre all rushed. But it died down, and there was no one at the counter and STILL no one did anything. I guess they all thought it was someone elses job. Walt Disney used to pick up trash in Disneyland, and when a reporter asked him why, he said because you have to lead by example. Anyway, Im tempted to drop in a couple hours from now and see if anyone cleaned it up, but I think instead Ill just make it easy on myself and never visit again.
