Final Episode- 10 FLY CRASH BURN IN LOVE By Bijita Bhattacharya Meanwhile the Doctor arrived for regular check-up. He made it clear that he was recovering well. She was very happy to hear the news. Over the phone she informed her parents about the good news and also she called up Nishant’s family to inform them. At night she received a call from Madhu. ‘Hey Ana, how are you doing?’ Anandini was happy to hear Madhu’s voice after so many days. Hey Madhu, I’m good how are you Dear.’ Anandini voice were jovial again just the kind of vibe she had but for few days it was missing. ‘Awww sudden change in your voice, you truly sound good. So tell me is the news covered. I have come to know about it from bossy. Who is the officer who met with the accident? How fatal has it been?’ Madhu asked. ‘I am almost done with it, will require maximum 3 or 4 more days. Well, now the officer who met with the accident is Nishant. He was here from last 20 days training the squad. It was serious, but good news is recovering well.’ She said. ‘What? Oh my God. But it does carry good news also. So, any discussion about the wedding?’ She was so curious. ‘Madhu, stop it. He is not well. And I’m not expecting anything now. There is a huge difference between us and I have discovered it after coming here. May be in all these days even he has realized it. That is the reason he hasn’t raised the topic. And I do not think he will ask again. I am just happy to know that he is OK.’ Anandini explained. ‘You have gone completely insane Ana, you seriously do not realize what you are doing. Oh damn it Ana, if he hasn’t asked, you can initiate. May be he is waiting for you to make a move.’ Madhu was trying to ease out. ‘No Madhu, there are lot of differences we have nothing in common.’ Anandini defended her stand. ‘You know Ana, I have never really seen an obstinate fool like you.’ Saying this bit she just disconnected the call. Anandini knew she had infuriated Madhu. But what she could do? Will nobody try and understand her feeling? She has a deep feeling for Nishant but probably he does not love her, probably she was just an option for him not the one and only. She does respect his profession but even then she wants a major part in his life and she cannot compromise her place at the cost of anything. Tears rolled down her eyes and she hugged the pillow. She was not even sure when she slept. When she woke up it was bright morning. Yet another day arrived. Her work was near to completion. She was now planning to go back to her city. When she was finally looking into some editing part of her report, she was informed that Nishant called her. Quickly she headed for Hospital. Nishant has started recovering and was in good health. When Anandini reached hospital and to his cabin room, she found that Nishant was sitting on his bed. ‘Yes Nishant you called me?’ She asked. ‘Hm, so when are you leaving?’ He asked her. ‘Tomorrow. Actually most of the works are done and we have to now consolidate the other remaining part of the report.’ She replied. ‘Well, so it’s your profession, what about your personal life?’ When he asked this her eyes were wide open. ‘I did not get you.’ She plainly said. ‘I mean have you thought anything about our marriage?’ He asked. ‘Were you ever willing to marry me on first place Nishant?’ She asked him with sarcasm in her tone. ‘Why are saying this Anandini? You know I was always serious about us.’ He was as usual with his tone. ‘Yes Nishant you were so serious about us that you never bothered to ask me never bothered to discuss it with me. You took me for granted.’ Her voice again became heavy. ‘Please listen to me Anandini……….’ He was so desperate. ‘No Nishant you have to listen to me. All these years I was waiting to hear it from you, not from your mother, not from my mother. I am a simple girl Nishant, I have some desires, why will you never realize that Nishant? You were so occupied with your work that you never really found time to talk to me, discuss our plans. Tell me Nishant am I so dispensable to you. I know everything about your profession but do I really know anything about you. Whenever you were there at work be at your base camp, or at headquarters if I had anything important to discuss it with you, I could never call you up. In this so many years how many times have we spent quality time with each other?’ She finished everything in one breath but she felt this real confrontation was required. And all she was expecting was Nishant’s reaction on this. ‘Anandini I realize what you say, may be I never realized it before but I do now. That night when I spoke with you over phone I never realized it then, also not even the time when I came here without informing you. Slowly it sunk in and I realized. The day before when I met with that accident I was praying to meet you somehow to talk to you to tell you to burst out my feelings for you but could not even talk to you. I even regretted my decision of calling up mom and inform her that you were not willing to marry me. In all these bygone days I was wishing to run to you break open your door, hug you and say it to you how much I love you, and I cannot think of leaving my life without you.’ He confessed the truth that he was holding back for so long. This made Anandini speechless. She just could not believe that she was hearing all this. They were talking to each other when Anandini received a phone call. She excused herself from Nishant and picked up the call of Madhu. Madhu could make out that something has happened to Anandini. She was not crying but her voice was certainly heavy. ‘Anandini there is bad news.’ Madhu sounded very serious. ‘What happened, Madhu?’ She was concerned. ‘Anandini, Dhruv,’ with this Madhu started crying. ‘What is it Madhu, why are you crying? Please say what happened?’ Anandini could not take this secrect any more. ‘Anandini, Dhruv met with an accident yesterday night. He is no more.’ Madhu just could say this bit and disconnected the call. When the call was disconnected, Anandini went and sat on a chair opposite to Nishant’s bed, she still could not believe to the news. Nishant hand immediately came to console her. Anandini finally broke down, finally tears rolling down her eyes and she did not know how to stop them. Nishant tried to calm her down. He did not understand why she was crying but, he knew something is wrong. He gave her time to calm down then was planning to share her sorrow. He just said one these lines which he felt was right at that point of time, ‘you know Anandini I will always be there for you from now onward to share all your pain and your sorrows, just give me one more chance to court you properly and finally propose marriage to you like a gentleman does.’ Anandini just looked at him still unable to decide, could she really trust him? Does he deserve a second chance? But on the other hand, life does not give everyone second chances, and if it was giving them one, should she just throw it all away? She loved him and now his outburst had made her realize that he did love her and did realize his mistake. Anandini was in a dilemma and she needed to sort it out in her head, she loved him and Dhruv had loved her. His sudden death, Nishant’s accident these were all indications of life being really small and to live it best. Life was giving them a chance to mend what they could, unlike what had happened with Dhruv. Author’s note: A lesson learnt – A relation should be well balanced and there is no place for a third person. If at all there is a crack in that relationship in any point of time the third person enters into the relationship like water flowing through the crack and pouring in the ship then that ship has no place for mending, it would sink. Another thing being, we must realize that life is short lived, and when it gives us a second chance we should take it and make the most of it and I hope Anandani takes that and gives her relationship with Nishant a second chance, cause life has weird ways of bringing back what belongs to us.
