Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns At a Glance Final - TopicsExpress

Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns At a Glance Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns DEMO on PSN, now. After playing it, it feels like an evolved version of Final Fantasy X–2. I started as Lightning, and I will probably end up fighting the world, alongside a childish woman (Rikku) and a more mature one with a mysterious past (Pain), in search of the man I want… Not Tedus. In this case its Snow. When you launch the demo, skip the cutscene that starts before you play. Its the same, possibly, five minute cutscene youll have to watch again once you click start anyway. And you wont hear the dialogue until you actually start. Something I like about this demo from the get–go is that it has a large print option. Side note: FF A Realm Reborn also gives you the choice of larger print. Classes: The demo implies that as you play, youll get Garb (peaces of outfits), each with their own benefits –in the demo you get six outfits. Each outfit has some stat boost and one or two moves that cant be unequipped. But you also have non–schemata–specific moves you can equip to any outfit, making for a total of 4 per. And hough you have 6 schemata in the demo, you can only take 3 into a fight. Combat: You have an ATB bar for each Schemata. Its required to attack and guard –or dodge, depending on what move youve equipped– so youll be alternating all 3 schemata during battle. Enemies are on the field. You can push R1 to preemptive attack and theyll start battle with 5%, 10%, or 25% less HP depending on whether your primattack was Poor, Good or Great. Also, so far it seems that if two enemies are next to each other on field, youll fight em both (not 100% on that though). Once in battle your character moves at a sluggish pace. But its not too bad because physical attacks will make you rush the enemy, and magic attacks will make you jump backwards. You can hold a button to do combos, or mix and match, and you can even alternate schemata within a combo, which makes for a lot of fun. You use the left stick to move, but you use the D–pad to select which enemy to attack. If theres more than one, this seems like something that can become a problem once you have a bunch of enemies and want to alternate targets in real time. But pretty much every fight here was one–on–one, so no biggie. Online feature: generic characters will have items you can buy from Lightnins in other worlds?. Combat was fun. The story was: ITS THE END OF THE WORLD!!! And I find it really stupid funny when Lightning talks to Hope about hope. Check out the demo, folks.
