Final Fling Portfolio ( c. 1978-82). Another product of the Feminist Age. I like the woman’s hair-do, and her expression seems appropriate to her remark. I like the highlighting on the guy’s coat sleeve, too. And if you look at the rough, you’ll see that his final appearance changed from the first sketch at the upper right. Got rid of the bulbous nose. Only a guy with a sharp, pointy nose would be a fit spouse for the somewhat assertive woman here. (Not “pushy”; “pushy” is a co-out for men who don’t like assertive women.) But the best part of the visuals here, I think, is the clerk. I like his glasses up on his head—and this was before it became ultra-fashionable to wear glasses on the top of your head instead of on the front of it. And you can tell from the rough that initially I thought his left hand would be raised up to his face (or nose?). Maybe he was going to be adjusting his glasses; but once I put the glasses on top of his head, the hand lost its supposed function. So I erased it.
