Finally!! Lens I ordered in May arrived today. Tamron 150-600. If preliminary test is anything to go by, this looks to be a super birding lens. If youve always wanted a 600mm lens for birding or etc.but find the $6K-$7K for primes a bit daunting, its worth checking out. First 2 photos 600mm hand held (!). 3rd 400mm hand held. Goldfinches had contrast enhanced slightly (all photos taken in fading light). Its a bit large and heavy (see last photo) so tripod a good idea but hand held works. My 200-500 headed for the Bay. Some Sony shooter will get a good deal (some earlier Necedah photos taken with that lens).
