Finally, after 3 or 4 days (or more..lost count) of extensive cleaning to remove shellac painted over rusty surface. This proved to be a intensive effort, utilizing a combination of different techniques. Fire, Acid, Oven cleaner scrubbing with S/S pads..Everything , even wire brush..finally, this morning it looked clean enough to start the seasoning process..Used Grape seed oil for the first time..Im pleased with the initial results.
