Finally arrived at St Bartholeme having had a real adventure - TopicsExpress

Finally arrived at St Bartholeme having had a real adventure traveling from Guadeloupe. Left after a couple of nights in Guadeloupe and arrived in Montserrat. The mud slides and the volcanic ash wiped out the capitol, Pymouth. Dived on the edge of the pyroclastic flow to see if life was returning - it isnt. Met an inspiring individual who is trying to rebuild the reef - more about him on Just One Ocean in due course. From there we stopped by remote Redonda. An uninhabited island, the reef was pristine. Attempted to climb to the top to look for sea bird carcasses with Jenn Lavers but thwarted by crumbling rock face. From there we stopped at Nevis (mmm, might not be going back) and St Kitts where we had a bit of an altercation with the dock manager. Last couple of days were on Sint Eustatious. Never heard of it - neither had I. The caribbean that the US and the rest of the world (except the dutch) has not yet found. Incredible tiny island with amazing diving. Definitely an article from that one. Finally we have arrived in St Bartholeme from where I shall get my flight back to Guadeloupe - Paris - London. Been to some amazing places, seen fantastic things and been with a lovely bunch of people. Incredible opportunity. Here are a few photos from the trip. More images and hopefully videos to come ....
