Finally arrived in Liberia the day before yesterday. Currently at our Condo in the Presidential Suites in Playa Flamingo. Rented a tiny little Hyundi yesterday for $206 for a week. Off to Tamarindo with my wife today to check out the prices of real cars for the remaining couple of months we are here to check out the country for permanent residence before heading back to Panama to do the same thing for two months there. Have to get a SIM card for my unlocked iPhone. Anyone have suggestions as to the cost and the best provider (good coverage and overall price) for a SIM card. We went with Claro last year when we checked out Ecuador. Sim Card there was $5, but I was told they are only $1.50 here. Tried to buy a bottle of Gin in the Super Compro, Huacas yesterday. No luck! Gin? whats Gin? they asked. Having never been to Tamarindo or Costa Rica before, I am not aware of the can and cannot get items. I was told to bring hard cheese as it was unavailable here. I brought four blocks of the stuff from Costco in Las Vegas, walked into Super Compro and there it was, masses of the stuff in the fridges, Cheddar, Danish Blue, Camembert, you name it.
