Finding out that several of my colleagues at Sports Direct hate - TopicsExpress

Finding out that several of my colleagues at Sports Direct hate the job as much, or even more, than I do makes me feel a whole lot better about wanting to quit already :P I read a whole bunch of employee reviews for Sports Direct and the majority of them were actually very negative. I could draw several parallels between their reviews and my job. Nevertheless, I waved it off as being problems at their respective workplaces (despite the emerging patterns and similarities plenty of reviews shared). But talking to people I know about this, I realise that this job is actually pretty crappy. Its WAY more work than youre getting paid for and hardly any fun, plus one dumb comment from a manager (not a colleague because they understand the struggle, but occasionally a customer as well) can completely destroy the good mood youd built up the entire day thus far. Things are run fairly doggedly if you ask me, and the focus on sales over customer service pisses me off to the core. The second I find a better job, best believe Im out of here, no hesitation... Also, I hate how my working days (and consequently the majority of my week) are spent waking up, using the couple of hours (if at all) I have free to just chill, go to work for damn near 10 hours, then get back around half 10pm to eat and go to sleep. No time for working out so Ive had to put that on hold, no time to write new music or comedy videos, barely any time to chat to friends...its too damn much for this basic ass pay -_- If the job was fun, I could settle for the long hours and low pay. But its not. And to end this rant, if this status miraculously ends up being seen by a manager at Sports Direct, come holla at me personally. Ive genuinely got a couple of ideas that would solve ALL the problems employees face with damn near no cost to the company (for example, a training manual with a general layout of the shop floor as well as basic guides to the main aspects of the job like tills, tagging, checklist for customer service, etc. So far pretty much all stores lack formal training procedures and that reduces efficiency through an employees lack of knowledge. All it would take is the training manual and one week of structured training to teach them all they need to know, but instead the current training consists of one day of heres the most basic shit you can do and from there you find out everything you need to know by yourself. Im STILL learning stuff, and Ive been here for over a month! Also, an online staff intranet where we can check our timetable and maybe chat with other coworkers. Messages can be sent from managers to us to let us know about stuff. If it does exist already, why the hell are we not using it? I sure as hell havent received anything about it). Im a Business Management and Entrepreneurship graduate so you sure as hell cant try to teach me a damn thing about employee satisfaction. Im trained to run your company or build a rival company to blow yours away should I choose to do so. Otherwise, go ahead and fire me. I wont cry -_- Jobs are out there yknow...
